The Stanley Hotel

Nestled at the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park, Colorado, the historic (and possibly haunted) Stanley Hotel has been in operation for over a century. It’s fame from The Shining and Dumb & Dumber makes quite the impact in this small town in the heart of Colorado.

As a note, we stayed here on a work trip (photographing a wedding) for two nights. The hotel was marvelous, with several lobbies and ornate details.


Multiple people in the wedding group had rooms with no heater, and ours had very little hot water. We also stayed on the same floor as the room from the Shining, and while it was a cool experience, it was loud. Overall, I’m happy we stayed here and
